SIMPLE MINDS - what else do I have to say but WOW
they were at the same concert as the B-52's at the Hordern Pavillion. The B-52's are a tough act to follow! Not a Challenge for The Simple Minds who still seemed to please the crowd even though their musical style is completely different.
This was also my first time seeing Simple Minds live. They put on a pretty good show. I do admit! We were still in the same spot, up at the front left near the speaker. They were Ridiculously loud. I feared for my Tape Recorder. But they put on a really great show. All of the band members were happy to be in Sydney and perform for us...
I also scored another pick thrown by the guitarist at me!
I thought they were wonderful.
Once again, I recorded this show. It didn't turn out that bad I was quite surprised considering how insanely loud they were and we were so close! They were amazing & very energetic performers.

Jo Whiley presents Simple Minds live in concert from the Hackney Empire in London. The band perform a very special acoustic set of some of their biggest hits from the last three decades, and what's more this is their only UK show of 2016. They're also releasing a brand new one-off album of stripped down and re-imagined songs from across their career, Jim Kerr said - "The synths are no more - but the Celtic soul remains." They recorded the album in Jim's home city of Glasgow, in Gorbals Studio, a former railway workers' social club where Jim and Charlie played their first gig, as teenagers in a school glam-rock band. The start of Simple Minds Acoustic can be traced back to a rare live session the band recorded for the Chris Evans Breakfast Show in September 2014, promoting their 16th album, BIG MUSIC. The reaction, to the band's surprise, was favourable.
