I received this in a tape trade many years ago.
It come from a unknown vinyl source, probably a bootleg circulated in those years.
I tried to find something about on the web without success.
However there is no reason to be surprised because in those years there were dozens
of bootlegs of all kinds in circulation and a lot of them aren't still surfaced and
probably they'll never be.
The concert is complete and there are no incomplete or cutted songs, except maybe
some minor edits.

Opening with the rhythmically heavy "Hunter and the Hunted" and moving into the even more compelling, "Glittering Prize," vocalist Jim Kerr shows why he had one of the best voices on the charts during this time. It is a wonder that more of the band's songs weren't hits on U.S. radio.
A chilling version of "Big Sleep" comes soon after, with its title taken from the famous Humphrey Bogart film. They close the set with "New Gold Dream" which U2's Bono has said is one of the best rock songs ever recorded. This set was recorded for the King Biscuit Flower Hour on the band's high profile New Gold Dreams tour, before they found sweeping success with their inclusion on the Breakfast Club soundtrack with the closing tune, "Don't You Forget About Me."

After Treviso's date on October 20th, the band ended the second Italian leg of that tour with this show in Turin. This time the concert is complete and the quality is quite better being an FM radio master recording. There is only a reasonably annoying problem very common in every italian radio broadcast. Radio announcers talking really too much! And unfortunately there isn't
actually much to do about this problem if not listen the show as it is.

Tape story:
The venue is an amazing square (the central square of Modena listed since 1997 as UNESCO World Heritage Property).
Strangely the concert was confirmed in this old square after the Emilia earthquake (differently from Radiohead in Bologna and Kasabian in Ferrara that were moved from the relevant central squares).
I have located myself in front of the left stack, about 15 m from the stage.
Not more people were around me and also very quiet.
The sound is extremely very good. Imho one of the best recordings I have ever done.
What about the show?
It was my fourth Simple Minds concert (the previous were in Milan 1984, Reggio Emilia 1986 and again Milan February 2012... 26 years later!!!) and I enjoyed a lot.
Of course I would have preferred more to attend a 5x5 full set than the proposed 5x5 + hits set since I still remember the 28th February 2012 concert as a very special event.
The band appeared in very good form and Jim Kerr spoke more in Italian than English
(with a very special appreciation of the Italian ice-cream that someone was eating in a caf猫/restaurant in front of the stage during "Don't You (Forget About Me)").
Technical notes:
- The total running time of the recording was 02:00:17; I have cut the first 7:50 min and the last 1:30 min (pre-recorded music) reducing the master to 1:50:57
- I have amplified the whole recording (+6.0 dB on the left channel, +8.0 dB on the right channel) and faded-out the last 10 secs
- If you burn to audio CD, you will need 2 CDs (CD1: 1-16; CD2: 17-21)

I have located myself in front of the left stack, about 15 m from the stage.
Not more people were around me and also very quiet.
The sound is extremely very good. Imho one of the best recordings I have ever done.
What about the show?
It was my fourth Simple Minds concert (the previous were in Milan 1984, Reggio Emilia 1986 and again Milan February 2012... 26 years later!!!) and I enjoyed a lot.
Of course I would have preferred more to attend a 5x5 full set than the proposed 5x5 + hits set since I still remember the 28th February 2012 concert as a very special event.
The band appeared in very good form and Jim Kerr spoke more in Italian than English
(with a very special appreciation of the Italian ice-cream that someone was eating in a caf猫/restaurant in front of the stage during "Don't You (Forget About Me)").
Technical notes:
- The total running time of the recording was 02:00:17; I have cut the first 7:50 min and the last 1:30 min (pre-recorded music) reducing the master to 1:50:57
- I have amplified the whole recording (+6.0 dB on the left channel, +8.0 dB on the right channel) and faded-out the last 10 secs
- If you burn to audio CD, you will need 2 CDs (CD1: 1-16; CD2: 17-21)
